You can follow these steps to generate backup codes for your Google account:
- Sign in to your Google account:
Open a browser, go to myaccount.google.com, and log in.
- Navigate to "Security" settings:
In the left-hand menu, click "Security".
- Enable Two-Step Verification (if not already activated):
Under the "Signing in to Google" section, ensure "Two-Step Verification" is enabled. If you haven’t enabled it yet, click the option and follow the prompts to complete the setup.
- Generate backup codes:
On the Two-Step Verification settings page, locate and click "Backup codes". Then select "Generate new backup codes"—the system will create 10 one-time-use codes.
Save or print these backup codes to use when you can’t access your phone or other verification methods.
- Completion:
The generated codes can be used as a verification method without an internet connection or access to your phone.
